Over the past year, I have been working hard on my self-care subscription box business, the Bloom Beautifully box. Each shipment is 5 or 6 items that help women take care of themselves, mind, body and soul. A huge part of my job is searching to find companies that get it — they know what it means to balance several different roles and to need a self-care routine that will de-stress.
All of the companies featured in this year’s self-care boxes have been phenomenal, but I wanted to highlight these companies for going above and beyond in their quest to help women fill their cup (and give you the opportunity to get ALL these amazing products for a deep, deep discount).
Enter our 2016 “Best Of” box, featuring 7 items from this year’s boxes PLUS three bonus items. Together, they represent a self-care gift package worth well over $100 (the affirmation card deck is $25 alone!). Want to see what’s inside? Take a look!
I adore Tee for her simple + affirming products. I featured her Aromatherapy minis in this year’s July box for two reasons: 1) each bottle comes with its own affirmation (I’m a sucker for letting women know how great they are) and 2) the smells were amazing.
In our holiday box: one 10 ml aromatherapy roll-on, complete with affirmation
When I’m busy and all over the place, sometimes my skin suffers as a result. Sometimes a mud mask is just the thing to get you right and back looking brand new. These relaxing lavender masks from Que Bella were featured in our very first box and they pack a lot of power in that purple package.
In our holiday box: 1 lavender mask
3 + 4) Addictive Apothecary
I first fell in love with Addictive Apothecary in April, when I was sourcing products for May’s “Sleep Well” box. The owner, Millicent Richardson, sent me a box of her favorite products to try: the cashmere body balm, a lavender eye pillow and a coconut sugar scrub. They were all incredible and I instantly picked the lavender eye pillow for the box. Subscribers have been raving about it ever since. That’s how I knew I had to include a bevy of Addictive Apothecary products in this holiday box.
In our holiday box: 1 body balm (scent: cashmere), lavender eye pillow and 1 bonus item!
Yes, we have our own products too that we love to include in the boxes! Our “me-time” door hangers were a big hit when they appeared in September’s “Spa Day” box and they’re back. I encourage everyone to establish household rules that include everyone’s right to some uninterrupted alone time!

Taking a leisurely bath is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I love to watch TV in the tub, read in the tub and my favorite thing of all is to eat in the tub. True story. But what takes a bath from “maybe this week” to “must-do” is a delicious smelling bath bomb. I became a believer earlier this year when I met Patrice from Decadence Body Shop. Her bath bombs are packed with great fragrance and it all washes clean with a gentle rinse once you get out. We had to include some in our first box and now they’re back for more.
In our holiday box: 2 mango papaya bath bombs
7) Tea Drops
I love tea. It’s the reason that I included two types of tea in our first two boxes and why I included a mug in our November box. A warm cup of tea can ground you and give you an excuse to sit still and be focused. These tea drops are the brainchild of Sashee Chandran, who wanted to simplify her morning cup and help reduce waste. These tea drops come ready made — all you need to add is water. No tea bags or sugar necessary. Each drop is pre-sweetened with organic cane sugar so your morning cup of tea is that much closer to being enjoyed by you.
In our holiday box: 1 wooden box of Tea Drops
Start your day off with an affirmation. This 44-pack of affirmation cards is designed to help you begin your day with a positive message. Each morning, pull one from the deck and let it be your mantra for the day. This deck from the 7 Directions is definitely one of my favorite items from our July box.

We all need better sleep! One thing that has definitely helped me was adding a sleep mask to my nighttime routine. We have so much light flooding into our bedroom — from the lamp, overhead light, moon light and of course, our electronics. A sleep mask blocks the light and allows us to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.
